About Travis Carter, President and Founder
A few years after Travis Carter was born in Fernandina Beach, he began tinkering in his father’s workshop. By the time Travis attended Fernandina Beach High School, his destiny of becoming an engineer was clear. He went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in Space Systems. Travis is a state-licensed Professional Engineer, has been certified through the National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers, and is a certified Electrical Systems Contractor. With over fifteen years' experience designing electronics for NASA's Space Station and the FAA's Modern Flight Control, Travis is a recognized expert in the field of electronics; he's even been called a "rocket scientist." In 1997 he founded Engineered Solutions of Amelia, Inc. to bring his electrical engineering expertise to local industry. His roster of satisfied clients includes — among others — the Amelia Island Plantation and Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation.

Travis now applies this cutting-edge aerospace experience to something much more down to earth: the home. His view of the home environment as a new electronics frontier sparked the founding of Home IQ of Amelia, a brand new division of Engineered Solutions geared especially to service the growing needs of the homeowner. The typical modern home has multiple electronic systems that coexist without any integrated control.
